Aligning HR Strategies
Exhibit 7 on p. 21 of the Vosburg article presents a series of questions designed to determine the alignment of HR strategies with those of the business. Assume that you are an HR consultant conducting a study and preparing an executive summary for the Board of Directors of an organization on this issue. (You may use your current organization or one for which you worked in the past.) Assess the organization in each of the eight HR categories (Leadership, Culture, Communication & Engagement, Workforce Planning, Talent, Retention, Performance Management, and Team Development), using the questions in Exhibit 7 as a guide. Use at least one reference (preferably peer-reviewed) to support your recommendations in each category.
