READ THE CHAPTERS PROVIDED
CHAPTETD NINE AND TEN FROM NAIM
AND CHAPTER 13 GLENNY
This week’s readings focused on what governments are doing in response to transnational crime.
Present and discuss the things identified in the readings that nation states are doing to combat transnational crimes?
Construct a table which succinctly documents these responses. The table should include, to what or whom the responses target, and the logic of the response (i.e. what it is trying to accomplish and how it is expected to affect that change). [One way to do this would be to make your rows of the table the response and have three columns, one for each of the necessary parts: target, goal, how it works]
Having explored some of the forces shaping transnational crime in the previous readings, how well do these responses alleviate the broader causes of transnational crime? In other words, what are the shortcomings of existing responses? Develop your answers fully.
What do you think should be done differently, both nationally and internationally, to prevent the proliferation of transnational crime markets and the harms that they produce?
