Future Home of the Living God, by Louise Erdrich

Cedar writes, “This is how the world ends, I think, everything crazy yet people doing normal things” (Erdrich 25). What is something “normal” one of the characters does in the novel that feels epsecially bizarre given that humans appear to be devolving? Why is this so strange to us as readers? And why might the character be acting normally despite the state of the world? Answers should be between 250-500 words.
